Focal Wall Idea

Happy Tuesday everyone! Came across this great idea from Emily A. Clark's blog today. I love the painted scroll detail above the mirror. Adds so much style and draws your eye up the wall. Who could ignore the amazing stripes...I adore a striped wall! But it was the added scroll detail that really caught my eye with this photo - what an economical way to add a little extra pizazz to a simple mirror!

Muted Monday

Maybe it's my breezy white window draperies blowing in the ocean wind...but lately my eyes go crazy over muted, monochromatic color schemes. This adorable cozy corner really caught my eye because it proves that white and cream doesn't have to be boring! Love it with the natural wood tones.

Hope you enjoy this Monday inspiration as much as I did. Think of it as a peaceful, calm to start off your week!

Golden Rule

You may hang your walls with tapestry insread of whitewash or paper; or you may cover them with mosaic; or have them frescoed by a great painter: all this is not luxury, if it be done for beauty's sake, and not for show: it does not break our golden rule: Have nothing in your houses which you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

These bold yellow chairs are both useful and beautiful! love the pop of color.
I'm baaaaaack! I took a little break-a-roo from my design blog to get settled into our new temporary life. Quite a bit has changed from my last post. My husband transferred to The Westin St. John and we have been living here for about 8 months. Life could not be any sweeter! I have been working at Island Style Weddings as a destination wedding planner; which has been a perfect fit for me down here to be able to still have a creative outlet.

Here's a photo of Hawknest Beach which is just a glimpse of what our 'backyard' looks like. Those of you who haven't visited St. John....I highly recommend it! 2/3 of the island is a national park that offers endless serene beaches, hikes, and snorkeling adventures!

I intend to continue my blog focusing on interior design inspiration which will always be my no. 1 passion....but I will also be sharing my experiences here in Love City as well as some wedding planning inspiration.

Hope you will join me as I share my design adventures - there's nothing more inspirational to me than traveling and experiences to kick-start the wheels a turnin' in my head.

Have a great weekend!
P.S. It's great to be back
